Happy Good Friday ! 😛 Today is an extra special day for me because it is my 21st birthday! YAAAY 😀 But I’m here to talk about how quickly your body can change when you have problems (like and injury or operation) or when you have a long rest period (like a holiday).

As many of you know, I had my appendix taken out three weeks ago. Yes, it as taken me THREE weeks to be able to go back to gym and do a proper workout. OK, I can’t run, or do anything with that much impact, but I can lift heavier weights and do a bit more cardio than in the beginning. To show the effects this ‘rest’ period had on my body I compared a photo I took a week before my appendicitis happened to a photo I took a week post-opp.

Processed with MOLDIV As you can see, my waist got a little smaller and I lost a lot of muscle!! Of course, I will be able to see and feel these changes more than you can see in a picture, but I just wanted to share it with you to show you that whatever you are going through, you can get back on track!

When I couldn’t workout I got really depressed and thought I was picking up a lot of weight, which I kinda was, but the difference is that you will be able to get back to where you were. I have a long way to go until I am as strong as I was, BUT I’m going to work my butt off to get to where I want to be 😛

But today I shall eat cake because it’s my Birthday, and you only turn 21 once 😉 Happy Friday Fitfam!
